my file summarytest.aspx is inside c:\deploytest folder. FYI: this ASPX page has a webpart that is modified in Sharepoint designer. My idea is to promote the same in Stage and production server.

any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

First thing I would move all the files you want to upload to a seperate folder (you have the batch file in the same folder and looks like it failed to upload it, I imagine this type is banned from being uploaded).  Creates a folder called "items" in c:\deploytest and then run

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN>STSADM -O uploadmasterpagesandpagelayouts -url http://test/projects -folder "c:\deploytest\items" -comment "uploaded by a tool" -version  "major" -autoapprove

Hope this helps

Dave

Dave,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have done the same as you suggested. Now this time it picked up the file but unable to install. My page name is Financial_info_STStest.aspx..

I tried site collection level and site level.. but the same issue.

Question: where/which directory will this file/page will get installed?

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN>STSA
DM -O uploadmasterpagesandpagelayouts -url http://test/projects/4210 -folder
"c:\deploytest\items" -comment "uploaded by a tool" -version "major" -autoapprov
e

getting files from c:\deploytest\items
processing file c:\deploytest\items\Financial_Info_STStest.aspx
default.master
Financial_Info_STStest.aspx
Value does not fall within the expected range.

Its the Site Collection level.  This tool is for uploading masterpages and page layouts only.  Both of these exist in the masterpage and page layouts gallery at the site collection level.

Can you try

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN>STSADM -O uploadmasterpagesandpagelayouts -url http://test -folder "c:\deploytest\items" -comment "uploaded by a tool" -version "major" -autoapprove

Dave,

I have tried, but no luck.

Infact http://test/projects - is site collection level where as http://test/projects/4210 is site level.. any way i tried http://test as well, but no luck.

Here is some article about this,

http://yyonline.wordpress.com/2008/01/18/moss-page-setting-error-value-does-not-fall-within-the-expected-range/

but not finding page-> page settings..(not sure whether it is designer)
and also not finding mso as suggested here.. Any designer updates I need to do?
